Strange title for a post on a knife review website, but I'm mostly serious. I really do think we should take everything with a grain of salt when we're listening to knife reviewers or our knife buddies. Not because the reviewer is being disingenuous or our knife friend doesn't know what he's talking about, but because we're all so very different. Some of us have similar … [Read more...] about Why You Shouldn’t Really Listen to Knife Reviewers

Blue EDC with Kizer, Rike, CRKT and G-Shock GA 2100
It was cold, wet and overcast today so I decided to fill my pockets with blue to match the weather. I quickly realized that I don't have very much blue in my arsenal of everyday carry goodies. I managed to come up with a couple of blue folders but no blue pens, watches, multitools or wallets. Do you have much blue gear in your EDC collection? Most of my knives have either … [Read more...] about Blue EDC with Kizer, Rike, CRKT and G-Shock GA 2100
Ruike Knives P852 Flipper Folding Knife Review
The Ruike Knives P852-B folder is a nice chunky knife that's more suited to doing a bit of hard work rather than sitting lightly in the pocket of your sweatpants without even knowing it's there. This is a solid folder with some girth in the handle that fills the hand, so you'll feel it in the pocket if you're going to carry it. Ontario RAT1, Ruike P852, & Spyderco … [Read more...] about Ruike Knives P852 Flipper Folding Knife Review
Best New Knives at Blade HQ 2020
Blade HQ have recently released their list of the best new pocket knives for 2019. The new knives are ranked by how many were sold during the year so obviously the knives released towards the start of the year will have an advantage over those that were released towards the end of the year. Enough waffle though, let's get straight into the knives list at the start of … [Read more...] about Best New Knives at Blade HQ 2020
Casio G-Shock GA-2100 Watch Review
It has been nicknamed the CasiOak because of its resemblance to the Royal Oak by luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet. The Casio G-Shock GA2100 is much thinner and more compact than the usual high sitting, singing and dancing G-Shocks. This is almost a stylish gentleman's watch and I think it's going to become one of their most popular models. The G-Shock GA-2100 currently … [Read more...] about Casio G-Shock GA-2100 Watch Review
New Spyderco Knives for 2020
I really didn't buy a whole lot of knives in 2019 as I have spent the year in Istanbul, Turkey but I'll be returning to Australia soon so I've been thinking about what to buy when I get home. Three new knives from Spyderco in 2020 include a folder with LC200N steel, a lightweight Tenacious, and a utility type kitchen knife. They're not super exciting knives that I'm sitting … [Read more...] about New Spyderco Knives for 2020
All Black EDC with a Casio G-Shock GA-2100-1A Watch
I'm still in Istanbul, Turkey so my EDC gear is pretty limited as it's all back home in Australia, but I did buy a new watch this week. I picked up the new Casio G-Shock GA-2100-1A. I was looking for the all black model (GA-2100-1A1) but couldn't get hold of one. I'm glad I didn't now though as the white accents have really grown on me. It adds a little class to a rugged … [Read more...] about All Black EDC with a Casio G-Shock GA-2100-1A Watch
Zero Tolerance 0450CF Knife Pull Apart and Maintain
I've carried my Zero Tolerance 0450CF for at least a couple of years solid now. Actually I bought it as soon as I possibly could when it was released so it has seen some action. I only use it for light everyday general tasks so it isn't abused but it is used a lot and I have neglected to maintain it. My ZT0450CF has never seen one drop of oil and it has never been cleaned, … [Read more...] about Zero Tolerance 0450CF Knife Pull Apart and Maintain
Zero Tolerance 0450CF Sinkevich Flipper Review
I have probably carried the Zero Tolerance 0450CF more than any other folding knife over the past couple of years. It's lightweight, slips into all pockets with ease, it uses materials that I like, and last but not least, it's a cool looking knife! It's not a perfect pocket knife but it's a pleasure to EDC (everyday carry). It's probably not the best slicer in the world so … [Read more...] about Zero Tolerance 0450CF Sinkevich Flipper Review
Everyday Carry Pocket Dump Pop: Zero Tolerance, Boker Plus, Apple iPad & Streamlight
Today's pop art inspired EDC pocket dump is a little bit funky. I was playing around with colors using Photoshop and added some blue and yellow. I kept the everyday carry gear untouched so it can still be seen properly but I went nuts on the background. What do you think? I'm still here in Istanbul, Turkey so my EDC gear is minimal to say the least. I really didn't want to … [Read more...] about Everyday Carry Pocket Dump Pop: Zero Tolerance, Boker Plus, Apple iPad & Streamlight
