Cold Steel
Cold Steel is an American based company producing a large range of folding knives, fixed blade knives, swords, walking sticks, canes, and various tools and accessories for the outdoors, self defense and martial arts. Their office and showroom is located in Ventura, California in the United States of America.
They were founded by Lynn C. Thompson who is still active in the company today. Thompson is a practicing martial artist and outdoor enthusiast.
Cold Steel have teamed up with a number of custom knife makers, martial artists, and other celebrities to produce knives and other gear. Most notably Andrew Demko who designs many knives and was pivotal in creating the Tri-Ad™ locking mechanism used on many of Cold Steel's pocket knives. The company has also worked with Steven Seagall, Steve Austin and custom knife maker Mike Wallace.
They are best known for their tough, sometimes in your face tools. Cold Steel produce both affordable knives and tools, along with those that use more premium materials and finishes.
